A report provided the findings from a review of architecture and design in the built environment in the United Kingdom. It said that the planning system needed to become more proactive, and that the professional training for architects should be reformed and become more accessible. The report drew on an extensive process of consultation over the preceding twelve months, and made recommendations, in areas such as: education, outreach and skills; design quality; cultural heritage; economic benefits; and policy for the built environment.
